Clipper Studio

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 11, 2026

This policy explains what Clipper Studio ("we", "the service") collects when you use it, why, and what your options are. It applies to the web app and API at this domain.

Account information

To create an account we store your email address, a display name if you give one, and a hash of your password — never the password itself. Password hashing uses Argon2id.

Sessions are opaque identifiers in an HttpOnly cookie, not a token that can be replayed if stolen from storage, and every session is revocable from Security settings.

Video and clip content

When you submit a source link, we download the video, generate a transcript, and store both together with the clips rendered from them, until you delete the job. Deleting a job removes its clips and the downloaded source from our storage.

If you upload your own meme images, sounds or video clips to cut into a render, those are stored the same way and used only for renders you create.

AI-assisted clip selection

Transcript text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to identify which segments work as standalone clips. Anthropic's API terms are, as of this writing, not to use API inputs or outputs to train their models. Video and audio themselves are never sent to Anthropic — only the transcript text.

Connected publishing accounts

Connecting YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or X uses that platform's own OAuth sign-in — we never see your password on that platform. We request only the scopes needed to publish a video and read back basic account info (e.g. channel or page name), and we store the resulting access and refresh tokens encrypted at rest.

We publish to a connected account only when you explicitly choose that account and press publish for a specific clip — never automatically, and never anything you haven't rendered yourself.

For the YouTube Data API specifically: our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube data obtained through your connection is used only to publish the clips you choose and to show you your channel's basic info inside Clipper Studio — not for advertising, not sold, and not read by humans except to debug a problem you report.

Disconnecting an account from Settings → Connections deletes its stored tokens immediately; revoking access from the platform's own settings has the same effect from their side.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal data, run third-party ad trackers or analytics beacons on this site, or share your content with anyone other than the platform you explicitly publish a clip to.

Email

We send account-related email only: verification links, password resets, and a notice if your password changes. If you use the contact form, your message and reply-to address are sent to our support inbox to answer you and are not added to any mailing list.

Retention and deletion

Jobs, clips and meme assets stay until you delete them from the app. To close your account and have the rest of your data deleted — account record, connected-account tokens, and anything not already removed — see Data Deletion.

Security

Passwords are Argon2id. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Verification and password-reset links are single-use and stored as a hash, so a database leak alone can't hand anyone a working link. Traffic to this site is served over HTTPS.

Children

Clipper Studio is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change and, where practical, we'll say so on sign-in.
